Video : How the BMW Touring model was born
BMW has released a new video, showing the story of the BMW 3 Series Touring model. It was born from the need of more space, as one of the BMW engineers in the 80′s needed space in the trunk to fit a tricycle for his daughter. Engineer Max Reisböck wanted to go on vacation with his family, but regular BMW 3 series sedans were too small for his luggage. That’s why he invented the BMW Touring out of a wrecked 3 Series Sedan. Finally, after presenting his idea to the board of BMW, the project was placed into production.

Another M5 crash
In a previous post, we wrote about a drifting lesson with the new M5, presented by the autoblogger youtube channel. Unfortunately, the white M5 belonging to Dutch DJ Headhunterz, was recently crashed. It seems that the DJ was not responsible for the accident, and was not driving this BMW. The M5 had four occupants during the crash, when it lost control and crashed into a tree.
The crash resulted in the BMW M5 to be declared totaled, but not as severe in comparison with last month’s famous 300km/h M5 autobahn wreck.
